How should an international couple name their child (in regard to name pronunciation)?

Common "westernized" names can have different pronunciation in different countries. Is it confusing for a child to have his name pronounced differently with different family members? (ie his maternal family says his name differently than his paternal family.) Or should both families agree upon one pronunciation?
