Why is my sugar high after extreme excise?

I am an obese woman in her mid 40's. I started a job cleaning rooms at a hotel this week, the first job I have had since diagnosed with diabetes; after cleaning a few rooms I start to feel extremely thirsty, tired and dizzy. However, my blood sugar is high. I don't understand what is going on. Any suggestions?
