How can I learn vocabulary faster to understand books better?

to add to Hailey's answer, watch lots of little kids shows! You will be able to understand the concepts a lot more easily, and even the very basic ones where the show host uses flowers to count will be helpful for you. Be a little kid, and speak it ALL THE TIME! Find someone on skype, or anywhere you can get into more regular contact with :)
